About Our Flag
Fort Seward is home to largest flag flown in North Dakota. This flag is 60 feet long by 30 feet tall and weighs approximately 70 pounds. The flag is made out of nylon and cost around $2400. The average lifespan for a flag this size is 60 days, that is why it is taken down if the wind is too strong or storms are predicted.
The flagpole that supports this flag is 120' tall and extends into the ground between 20 and 30 feet.
The flag originally came to Fort Seward Historic Site as part of the Flags Across America project in 2006. Unfortunately, the project has since gone bankrupt.
